Hi, I’m Philippa
aka The Self-Compassion Therapist. I help people to build their self-esteem and develop kinder relationships with themselves through self-compassion.

My story might not be too dissimilar from yours. I spent much of my teenage years and early adulthood overpowered by social anxiety, believing I was broken, hiding myself away and struggling to find my place in the world.
For a long time I found it almost impossible to say anything positive or kind about myself; it felt fake and forced. My inner experience felt so far away from the person I wanted to - or believed I should - be.
Through my own therapy, education, training, and personal growth, I finally feel at home in myself. I give myself full permission to be a flawed and multifaceted human being, to feel the full spectrum of emotions without self-judgement, and to live according to my own evolving values and beliefs rather than ones internalised or imposed by others.
I’m born and raised on the coast of North Wales, not far from the beautiful Eryri. Walks by the sea are my favourite form of self-care.
I’m interested in storytelling and film analysis, love creative writing, and I get very into my TV shows. I believe fiction can help us get through even the darkest of times.
I love a good documentary and video essay.
My core values are compassion (surprise), courage, autonomy, openness and fun. Living a values-based life is important in my therapeutic work and for my own wellbeing.
I try not to tie my identity to any one particular idea or philosophy as we are always growing, evolving and learning.
For me, the best moments in life centre around deep conversations, belly laughs and good food.
